Let's say the cut-off age of "as a kid" is 16.

"Linger" is slightly amusing if you think of it as a song about a fart. But that only makes it tolerable on occasion.
I had a long list, but wisely someone has capped it at five, lol.
I loved a lot of the upbeat radio when I was a kid, starting in around 1982 (I was 8), peaking in 1985 (at 11) or so and receding by 1989 (13):
Spoiler: loved
I hated the sadder and/or more harmonically sophisticated songs:

Hated

LOL. The Beatles = kindergarten music. They must be the only band where every single fucking cover song is better than the original. Instead of an hommage, it's more like a disgrace to the band. I actually had to go to a Beatles theme performance because my sister sings, and realized I do like a few of their songs now. It should be noted however that I have no taste in music and it's only getting worse.
Used to hate and now like (there's more but this is offensive enough):
(And they all look so adorable in this video - I can even forget Lennon's a shithead)
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARR!
I even learned how to play this at one point.
This one I'm posting more for the benefit of others. It's bound to be a favorite.
Spoiler: secret
This is a song I hated:
But this always seemed uplifting:
Oh holy crap, my parents didn't let me watch that show because they said it was too stupid. (Same rule applied to a few other sitcoms, all soap operas, and weirdly, Jem & The Holograms)
And everybody knows what the best 80s intro song is. Don't ask me why my parents let me watch this one, I was only 8 years old and all of these characters are fucked up. Two neurotic psychoanalysts, one douchebag playboy, a well-meaning idiot, an annoying prude, a frigid bitch and a foul mouthed shrew. Sometimes I wonder if it shaped any of my views later in life.
