    The INTPx Theme Music Project

I was thinking that it would be a fun idea to come up with a short, instrumental 20-30 second jingle for this board, performed by the musicians (hobby or not) among us. I've learned that @Thevenin, for instance, is a proficient piano player, while @MuseedesBeauxArts plays the cello (open strings, at least); @rincon, as far as I recall from INTPc, is an accomplished guitarist; and I'm sure there's more.

The idea would be as follows: each participant records their part (which would neither be very long nor very difficult), sends it in, and the parts will then be edited together to give the impression of a jam/big band/miniature orchestra.

I'd volunteer coming up with a tune/the according sheet music using the following state-of-the-art composition devices:
    Spoiler: Equipment

You'd just have to let me know what I can work with in terms of instruments, range and difficulty. I'd try my best to include everyone wanting to participate.

If you're up for this challenge:

    Which instrument do you play?

How long have you been playing?

Results/possible set-up will be summed up here.

    VOLUNTEERS so far:

Dirac: guitar (acoustic/electric/bass/twelvestring), mandolin, banjo, whistle (tin or low), harmonica, ukulele, violin at a stretch
    (possibly Dirac's girlfriend on violin)
    MuseedesBeauxArts: cello
    ACow: alto sax
stuck: alto sax, flute, and acoustic and electric guitars
Sappho: piano (if no-one else wants to)
    mthomps: guitar, electric bass

    stuck: mixing and editing
latch: visual direction; perhaps some percussion

    I could supply:

    guitar (acoustic/electric/bass/twelvestring)
    mandolin
    banjo
    whistle (tin or low)
    harmonica
    ukulele
    violin at a stretch

    I am up for participating.

edit: I also have some percussion-y stuff lying around - tambourines, cajon, djembe. Also I am more proficient with some of these than with others, let me know if you want any of the instruments and I could explain.

I can put the music to video.

I also have a few world percussion things around, bongos, darbuka, tamberine, claves and clave blocks, two different cowbells, a few trash(china) cymbals, a splash, a nice crash, three different snares and a patched together mishmash of a drum set. I also made some nice wood blocks I used to play. I have a couple keyboards and drumsas I mentioned but I don't play them very well- I can fake it! Mostly I make music on the computer.
That's my poop stirrin' stick- Don't touch it! You don't know which end is the handle..

Pretty bad, but my girlfriend is decent and I could maybe rope her into it.

Wow, this is an awesome idea! Let me know if there's anything I can do to facilitate.

Once it's finished – and provided it turns out to everybody's liking – perhaps uploading it to the INTPx YouTube channel?

This sounds like a really cool idea. I don't think my theremin skills are... musical enough to really contribute, but I'm looking forward to hearing how this turns out.
