    August 2014 Goals

Starting this thread early because I've got a lot of things that I'm going to have to do in August.

Hmm, well on a compressed timescale I have some more mundane goals:

Find the resources to fund a short-notice, long-weekend trip to Barcelona with some friends.
Survive the social overload and the requirement to meet lots of relatives I've don't like at my sisters ridiculously expensive and OTT wedding this Saturday
Try to finish some books I've half read.
Get out and do some stargazing
Actually open up to my parents and challenge some of their more controlling ways. I dunno how this will work out because they are very self-deluding, but it seems like it is worthwhile.

    Get a new apartment.
Start doing volunteer work at the local fort again.
    Finish establishing my credit.
Possibly go back to school online.
Once I get my first year in at this job get a higher paying one at a higher level of management.

i have to decide whether i wanna quit my job now or later. the issue isn't that anybody will care if i have a gap in my work history to go to school, it's turning down a lot of money. i'm miserable there.

on that note, gotta jump through a bunch of hoops and visit some offices to get prerequisites cleared up since the school doesn't see that i have a degree in a subject.

Why not do both? Take night classes or online classes.

i already did that for a summer semester so it's much worse. i'm not interested in overworking myself. in fact i'd like to take a vacation soon.

online classes aren't an option. if i'm playing for class and putting in the work, i wanna get the critique and discussion that comes with it.

Understandable. Maybe find a part time job instead? So you still have a source of income but can devote the majority of your time to studies.

PT jobs during the holidays are tough. did that last year and i'm not sure i wanna do that again.

i know what i have to do is try to get another job ASAP so i can let this one go, but that means i won't have a vacation. my soul isn't dead yet. hard choice.

Fun PT jobs exist. I was a tour guide for a while I've also been a direction giver at a state park. Both very fun jobs that you can do in spare time. Just try not to do the normal mindnumbing seasonal jobs like at big box stores. Good luck to you.
