    Who do you follow?

Lets stick to celebrities and say that anyone with a legit Wikipedia entry (not created on their own) counts.

I guess you can follow them via any means. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, RSS, whatever.

I'll just stick with who I follow on Instagram (people who have the Wikipedia entries, in order of who I seem to focus on the most):

    David Choe
    Dmitry Klokov
    David Chang
    Casey Reas
    Ilya Ilyin
    Beau Sia

My priorities seem to be art, weightlifting, food and poetry. All dudes. 2 Korean-Americans, 1 Chinese-American, 1 Honkey-American, 1 Russian, 1 Khazakh.

Instagram does seem to be biased more towards younger celebrities and or more visually oriented escapades.

Interestingly enough, Jim Wendler doesn't have a Wikipedia entry, but Rippetoe does.

Oftentimes, I'll follow celebrities on Instagram, only to discover that they are really fucking boring and I hate them. Ilyin for instance is sort of boring. Sia is also kind of boring. The rest I've unfollowed.

Choe is the best thing that has ever happened to Instagram and justifies it's existence on his own.

Just Ray Kurzweil for his ideas. When I was growing up being a celebrity meant something, now (thankfully) it's been greatly watered down. I don't pay attention to the latest crop.

    Cory Doctorow

I've noticed that I usually only follow celebrities that I've met and had a positive personal experience with. In that respect, Mitch and Cory were two of my favorites and I also enjoy the things they talk about online. I also have a few friends who I follow and who re-share stuff. So ... I don't follow him per se, but I also like the stuff George Takei shares.

    David Wong, regarding Chicago
Six centuries ago, the pre-Colombian natives who settled here named this region with a word which in their language means "the Mouth of Shadow". Later, the Iroquois who showed up and inexplicably slaughtered every man, woman and child renamed it "Seriously, Fuck that Place". When French explorer Jacques Marquette passed through the area he marked his map with a drawing of a brownish blob emerging from between the Devil's buttocks.

Chomsky. He's the only person I'll repeatedly look up on Youtube. And I have his books and stuff.
