this reminds me of an idea I had some years ago to take well known public domain novels, run them through translators a few times and try to sell them.
hell that might even be a fun idea for a thread. run the first few pages/paragraphs of a popular novel through a translator a few times and see if people can guess what it was.
I have a copy of Animal Farm in Arabic that seems to be the product of Google Translate. It's pretty awful, even by my translation standards.
@gator, I'm considering arranging my novels by author's origin, like the Library of Congress system does, but I don't like having such chronological discontinuity between regions (such as placing Douglas Adams novels next to 19th century Irish literature). However, I think a pure chronological ordering would lose nuances between the regional development of novels. How do you order your novels?
I wanna see your goodreads, so add me.
@gator, maybe try speaking faster or using a British accent with American dictation software.
To test, I will rub the eight-ball and ask: Should I become a man?
"'I cannot play with you,' the fox said. 'I am not tamed.'" - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Le Petit Prince (1943)
REMINDER TO SELF WHEN DEALING WITH THE RABBIT WARRIOR: "All warfare is based on deception." - Sun Tzu, The Art of War
I put in "Kitsune should become a man" here and it gave me "Fox should be people".
I'd say that's ambivalent.
But this is even better.
