    Forgetting Day of the Week

I'll occasionally forget the day of the week. An example is carrying the trash out on a non trash pick up day - Doh! I've done that a couple of times over the years.

So today when my wife asked "are you going to worked today," I answered without a full 100% confidence, "No? It's Saturday." Scared me for a second.

Ha! Just last week, I got a pleasant surprise on Friday when my daughter mentioned how happy she was it was Friday. The entire day I thought it was Thursday. I did a little happy dance.

Monday Holidays often enter my awareness on the late side as a pleasant surprise. I don't realize that I'll have Monday off until somebody mentions that they're looking forward to the long weekend, or on departing Friday from work, somebody says "see you Tuesday."

I just look at my watch. I'd be lost without it.

Glimpses do ye seem to see of that mortally intolerable truth; that all deep, earnest thinking is but the intrepid effort of the soul to keep the open independence of her sea; while the wildest winds of heaven and earth conspire to cast her on the treacherous, slavish shore?
