Red face You find a wallet

    Scenario 1
There is $450 in the wallet. There's a driver's license in it and you find out the wallet is owned by an old woman who lives nearby (in the same suburb). Do you:
    A) Return the wallet without taking the cash
    B) Return the wallet in the mail (anonymously) and take the cash
    C) Leave the wallet where you found it

    Scenario 2
There is $600 in the wallet. There is no form of identification in the wallet at all, just a library card with no name on it. Do you:
    A) Keep the cash, throw away the wallet
    B) Leave the wallet where you found it

    Question

In the past, have you ever found a wallet? What did u do with it?

    BE HONEST

    Scenario A
    Return the wallet with cash.

    Scenario B
Neither of those options, check the library to see if they can scan it to find the person.

For both of these options I have the luxury of being financially secure. If I actually needed the money, I would keep it for both scenarios.

You drop it off at the police station. As you walk out, you hear the policeman shout behind you, "WOO, DINNER'S ON ME GUYS!"

    1. Return wallet with cash.

    2. Keep cash, dispose of wallet.
I'm suspicious of people who say they'll die for a flag but won't wear a mask for their neighbor.

Where is the wallet? I probably wouldn't check in the first place. Not my business to be searching through wallets i happen to find. Only way i'd pick it up is if i thought the owner was nearby and i wanted to give it to them.

Edit: This scenario has happened to me: I was on a "Model United Nations" trip for school. I found 50 dollars on the floor, and went around asking the students if they'd lost it. Finally, I couldn't find the owner, so i gave the 50 dollars to one of the teachers incase somebody claimed it. This event came shortly after I had lost my own wallet on the same trip and had to borrow money from that same teacher. I later learned that she held me as some kind of moral saint after that... But really, I think it more stems from a lack of valuing of the 50 dollars. I'm not strapped for cash, so what do i need 50 dollars for?
If I'd found like 10,000 dollars, I doubt I'd be able to resist keeping it... assuming I thought that was a viable option.

Violence is never the right answer, unless used against heathens and monsters.
