I almost pegged the third one in Caracas. That's what I get for "reading" newspaper headlines in a language I don't know.

TX, WTF! I thought it was HI!

    Spoiler: Edit
I tried to cheat and pinned the third in Caracas. That's what you get from bending the rules and not reading properly, children!

In the third place I just read "falu" and "butik" and thought I knew I was in Hungary, though it didn't look Hungarian at all. Turns out I wasn't. Darn you, finno-ugric similarity!

    Nooooo

I was feeling pretty smug on the last one when I found a sign pointing the way to Chelyabinsk. Too bad it didn't have a distance. I guess in Russia a city a thousand miles away is the next town over :/

    On the first one:

    Spoiler: spoiler
    My score = 11,645

    1. Correctly guessed midwest USA, but was off by a bit.

    2. Spotted the signs in Portuguese and correctly guessed Portugal.

    3. Guessed northern Europe based on the signs and the foliage, but settled on Sweden. Oh well.

    4. Guessed Florida.

    5. Some desert-y place. I saw a vehicle in the distance. I moved up to see which side of the road it was on. Left. It must be Australia! D'OH! South Africa. Fuck.

    Game #2:

    Spoiler: spoiler
    17,379 points

    1. Northern trees. Guessed Baltic.

    2. Looks like Europe. Hilly. Not a wealthy area -- southern or eastern Europe. Architecture suggests a mostly sunny climate, but the slanted roofs tell me there is some snow too. Guessed Greece.

    3. This one was easy. Big banner with some Asian script and Thai flags on it. I guessed Bangkok so I was somewhat wrong still.

    4. US prairie (the "mile" sign tells me US), which doesn't narrow it down much. Guessed Nebraska.

    5. Argh! Northern latitudes again, but not much else to go on. Guessed Sweden based on the excellent blacktop road.
