You don't need to be a pilot to visit the cockpit.

Sometimes they even give you souvenirs!

Was it the Oppositeness that first attracted you?
Typical similarity to your father etc?
    Bad Boy thing?

I doubt he was the bad boy in that relationship. You're forgetting how tough Delilah is. That woman has done hard time.

    David Wong, regarding Chicago
Six centuries ago, the pre-Colombian natives who settled here named this region with a word which in their language means "the Mouth of Shadow". Later, the Iroquois who showed up and inexplicably slaughtered every man, woman and child renamed it "Seriously, Fuck that Place". When French explorer Jacques Marquette passed through the area he marked his map with a drawing of a brownish blob emerging from between the Devil's buttocks.

Osito is correct, he was, and is, the "good" one on the relationship.
I think, for both of us, it was the opposite strengths that attracted us, and over the years I think, rather than relying on the other to "make up for" our deficiencies in some areas, we have encouraged (i.e. pushed, threatened and demanded) that the other works to develop their weaknesses. It doesn't always go well. For example, there are areas in which I will never excel or enjoy in the ways that he does, like social situations. He prefers them big, loud and often, I prefer them in a different timezone and without me.
We chose to adapt by me encouraging him to go out whenever he wants to and I don't give a shit or ask questions...or even really notice most of the time anymore. He has dropped his expectations and only expects a few functions a year out of me and understands when I have to excuse myself to go out and smoke alone every hour or so to escape the chaos.
