    Is life "too short"?

I think that life is too short for me to waste too much time - though I don't mind others wasting their own time - in fact it is somewhat entertaining if they do.

Perhaps youth is too short but we're talking about life in general - not youth.

I think life is a good length. If life was longer people who had unfortunate circumstances would suffer for longer. And people with favorable conditions might be more likely to take them for granted and life might seem meaningless if it was too easy for too long.

Our current lifespans allow great minds and creative people to produce a lots of works. On the other hand our "short" livespans stop bad leaders from ruling too long.

Though love songs sometimes talk about loving someone forever, many of us, especially Hollywood couples have trouble for it even lasting a few years. During that time they may have had sex thousands of times and things like the "Coolidge Effect" would make them look elsewhere - perhaps porn or cheating with physical partners.

If you think life is too short, what type of person are you?

The good years, when one has there shit together and still "youthful" are very short. You realize this as you approach 50, less than 30 are really good years of being adult.

I'm a fairly creative person, and I often feel that life is way too short for me to really live up to my potential. It has forced me to pick and choose among the many avenues of creativity that I think I might have enjoyed, and I'm not sure I'll have a long enough lifespan to explore the ones I've stuck with to the extent that I'd like to.

Anything that's good is too short. Obviously, that's subjective.

I think life is too long because there are too many humans on the planet. We should all die around 23 or so so only half of us get around to having kids.

I'd say too short. I need more decades of liesure time. Assuming typical life expectencies, I'm only going to get 20-30 years of a "life of liesure" (i.e post retirement) in before I die. And those last 10 years might be in iffy health. Ideally, I think about 50 years would suit me better.

Of course, it is a bit of a catch-22. If I was going to live 30 or 40 years longer, I'd probably have to work 15 more years or so, which would be counter productive to my goal. Still I would take it.

I've been of two minds on this subject for a while now. Life is too short to take seriously and too long to be serious all the time so my plan is to fart around and enjoy myself. Fuck everything else.

Aint that the truth, and the older I get the more obvious this gets. Why do I want to burn up what I have left on completely pointless activities?

Time flies when you're having fun but to be merciful to people who are suffering a lot life shouldn't be too long. People who are suffering aren't necessarily able to end it even if they want to - e.g. being tortured in a country with a bad human rights record.
