    How do you recharge?

Say you're feeling really drained and tired. Maybe you've spent too much time around people or you've had a really stressful day at work. Maybe you've had to deal with a person, a friend, family member or coworker who is toxic to you. How do you recharge? What is the thing that puts you back to normal?

avoiding everybody and/or indulging in some escapist pursuit-- typically art, movies, music and books.

sometimes, though, what you really have to do after a long day is simply have a good meal, shower and sleep.

I've actually learned to go without a lot of the recharging time I used to think I needed. That said, there are a few things that help. Nothing is the magic you suggest--for me, a lot just has to do with sucking it up and moving on. But here's what helps:
-turning on music when I'm getting ready in the morning, or again in the evenings if I'm cleaning
-reading the NYTimes or New Yorker, flipping through a few blogs, poking around online
    -going for a run
-writing a rant/vent email to a few of my nearest + dearest folks
-I will sometimes call people, depending on the time and if I have time
    -a hot shower

Yes, I smell like a horse. No, I don't consider that a problem.

    - Spend time away from people.
    - Play a few minutes of tf2 :P (or some other silly game, but its become my default because of the jump in/jump out anytime quality and I don't tend to buy many others).
    - Reading
    - Bike ride
    - Walk (i love walking either by myself or with the woman. If I'm having an especially bad/bored time at work i'll just get up and go for a walk around the lake to clear my head.).
    - I've been fortunate enough so far to schedule about 4-8 weeks off each year from work. Sometimes its staggered, sometimes it tends to be in a big chunk. This generally involves going somewhere with the woman, travelling, walking, or just sitting reading by a beach somewhere. I'm a bit alarmed because the time I feel I can stand between breaks is getting shorter and shorter and the breaks are getting longer and longer...

1: Science Fiction book and a hot bath
2: Talking to the cat as if we were both characters in an Andre Norton book.
3: A trip into the wilderness alone where neither people nor the things of people can be seen or heard.
4: Lose myself in an instrument or music
5: Watch an old favorite movie and have a drink or two covered in a warm blanket on the recliner with the cat sleeping in my lap.
