Was thinking of this song earlier. It's by a group called Acroma. They put out one album in the early 00s. Had the same producer as Tool, so it's easy to hear the similarities. Although, I think Arcoma is flat out better. Hate they couldn't have put out at least one more album, if not two.

    This is Perfect.

This song was totally on my mind today. Musta played 8 times at work. I first heard this song during my formative years at a basketball camp played by some upperclass high schoolers. (By that I mean Jrs & Srs, not necessarily well-to-do). I kinda bonded with this one quiet guy who had a really good all around game but not flashy in attitude. Towards the end of the camp all the coaches really took notice of him as well. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of Hagar's more pounding numbers but there was something that resonated with this song for me and that guy. I couldn't begin to tell you if he was an INTP. I don't know if there are universal INTP traits within the lyrics but I get the frustration of constantly fighting against the current for being different.

This is off his 1981 album, Standing Hamption. Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you: Can't Get Loose

Pretty easy to understand but if you'd like the ease of following along at home, here are the lyrics.

Spoiler: Fight Like Hell But We...
What makes him stand and fight
When he only wants to love?
And why do they push so hard
When he only needs a shove?

    Everytime I see him give
    It's his turn to take
    Everytime I see him go
    Everybody says to wait

Can't get loose, you can fight like hell
But you can't get loose, you can dream
But you can't get loose, it's holdin' on, holdin' on
Can't get loose, oh, no, no

    What makes on man rich?
How's another man get so poor?
What make someone care so much
For things another man can just ignore?

    Some questions go unanswered
And they have for quite some time
    Something's forever sacred
We're just prisoners of our own mind

Oh, can't get loose, we can fight like hell
But we can't get loose, we can dream
But we can't get loose, keeps it holdin' on, holdin' on
Can't get loose, shake it, shake it
    Can't get loose

There she sits with stars in her eyes
    But too afraid to dance
'Cause every guy that she holds so close
Just wants to get in her pants

    Oh yeah
    Can't get loose
    Can't get loose
    Can't get loose
    Can't get loose

Tell me what keeps her by his side
When she's treated just like dirt
The fear of the dark unknown
Appears to be much worse than the hurt

So she stays up nights and dreams
Of a knight in shining armor
Who will rescue her one day
While time keeps going against her

Ooh, can't get loose, yeah you can fight like hell
But you can't get loose, you can dream
Oh but you can't get loose, keeps on holdin' on, holdin' on
    Can't get loose, shake, shake

Can't get loose, yeah just fight like hell
But you can't get loose, keeps on holdin' on, holdin' on
And you can't get loose, oh no no
I know you can't get loose, you can shake it, shake it

Can't get loose, I know you fight like hell
But you can't get loose, yeah you can dream
Ooh but you can't get loose, go on and fight like hell
But you can't get loose, shake, shake, shake it, shake it, shake it

But you can't get loose, ooh
    Can't get loose
    Can't get loose, ooh
    Can't get loose
    Yeah, can't get loose

Lifetime Piling Up by Talking Heads is one of my top favorites. The Talking Heads are just fantastic. Some other Talking Heads songs worth mentioning: This Must Be the Place, Stay Up Late, And She Was, Nothing But Flowers

Queens of the Stone Age - If I Had a Tail, No One Knows

ELO - Strange Magic, Can't Get it Out of My Head, Evil Woman, Don't Bring Me Down

I've also been digging some Garbage lately. I Think I'm Paranoid, Stupid Girl, and I'm Only Happy When It Rains are all great. If you want some great Alternative, check out Cake. Lake of Tears is a pretty good Doom Metal band if you're into symphonic melodic metal. The Black Brick Road and Moons and Mushrooms albums are good places to start. If you're into Drone Metal, Ambient Metal or just want to listen to guitars sustaining for insane periods of time and loudness, check out Sun O))).

Spoiler: Garbage - I Think I'm Paranoid, Lake of Tears - Moons and Mushrooms Album

The idea that there is more is essential to our humanity.
