    nadir, merlon.

Nadir, I learned not from maths, but from a review in PC Gamer that described some late FMV hot mess of a game as "The nadir of non-interactive video junk".

Merlon is a word I learned because I was trying to write an action sequence and found describing portions of it to feel clunky. So I looked for better words, found the right word, and then realized no one was going to know what I was talking about unless they looked it up too.
Most of time, when people ask why something terrible happened, they don't realize they are looking for someone to blame.

I don't think doctors should be using the word "subcutaneous" when talking to patients or their families unless they also say "under the skin" to make sure they're understood.

Some people think impeach always means remove from office.

I just saw the word comfortability and I had to complain somewhere. I don't have a good word right now.

djm (perhaps mancroft): Greetings m'lady, your callipygian look is quite striking.

99problems (perhaps delilah): hey sweet tits, nice ass!

*edit* I'm going to have to add that word to my vocab.

    I think: proselytize, profligate

Starla used "profligate" on the forum today and I had to look it up. Forgot the meaning already. I didn't even recognize it.

    Also vagus, vacuous

Ptah used vacuous. Didn't even recognize it. I feel I should know that vagus refers to a nerve. I don't feel it would be held against me to not know vacuous but I could be wrong.
