    Marmite Appreciation Thread

They had vegemite and marmite at my grocery store, so I bought a lifetime supply.

Marmite is obviously the superior product and not derived from a recipe stolen by former convicts, obviously.

A nice thin layer on some hot buttered toast, or a crumpet. mmm
In my mind's eye, one little boy, one little man, funny how time flies.

Are you planning on not being around in another month or two?

Yeah, probably from suicide, because it's obvious from those purchases that he hates himself.

You just don't know the joys of yeast extract.

I think I took medication for that once.

Vegemite looks like cigarette tar concentrate

I just tried both, and I agree with Limey.

Marmite has a more robust and complex flavor, while Vegemite is a more mild, simple flavor. It's kind of like eating a Kraft single, vs a slice of cheddar.

At first I was kind of put off by the slight bitter aftertaste of the Marmite, but it grew on me. It's kind of like when you first try green olives or Tomacco. You get that salty, bitter taste, then after a few seconds you want to try some more.

Just imagine the American version. Take all the salt out and half fill the jar with sugar.
