Or China's 500 million dollar bribe to Trump so he would change his mind on ZTE to save Chinese jobs so they can keep spying. You know that same company that the US sanctioned for selling shit to Iran...

    Is this the real timeline?

Republicans interfering with the Russian investigation? Sounds like jail time to me.

The second outcome was the meeting on Thursday that Kelly has brokered between Hill leaders, the Justice Department and the FBI. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., had urged the Trump administration to include Democrats but none were included in the White House's announcement.

"The only thing more outrageous than this meeting occurring at all is the fact that it's now partisan," Schumer said. "It is crystal clear that Chairman Nunes' intent is to interfere with the investigation, and Speaker Ryan is allowing it to happen."

Democrats say the pressure Trump is bringing to bear on federal law enforcement is an inappropriate overreach of his authority against a Justice Department that is supposed to be able to act independently.

"The fact that ... Trump is DEMANDING the DOJ reveal confidential information about an ongoing criminal investigation is more evidence of potential abuses of power by the President," wrote New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, on Twitter. "This is not only a threat to the rule of law, but a dangerous precedent for our democracy."

Another Democrat, Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, said the legal and political complexities in Washington, D.C., missed the point: U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies must be able to protect their clandestine sources and operatives, he said.

"The review of highly classified documents in the midst of a highly charged partisan conflict raises the clear and present danger of illegal disclosure potentially catastrophic to confidential sources and operations," Blumenthal warned.

They are so desperate to know what Mueller knows, and to try to take hold of the narrative before a potential House flips and impeachment proceedings commence. Clinton was impeached because of lying about a blowjob. There are so many topics on which Trump could potentially perjure himself. If he can't shut down the investigation, at least he can have some cronies look through everything so they can know what they can say, what they can't say, and how they will try to spin this to the public.

I can't keep up with this thread (and its originator, First 100 Days) anymore. The examples of incompetence and corruption are never ending. I'm desensitized and tired of it all. All the shit that has come out about Michael Cohen could be its own thread. Remember when a stained blue dress seemed scandalous? and Obama meeting with a pastor was somehow horrible? And then a Presidential candidate may be breaking campaign finance laws to pay hush money to the porn star he was cheating on his pregnant married wife with?

You mean like Cohen's business partner pleading guilty and flipping on him?

Or how Ukraine paid him ~$400K to talk to Trump and then they just happen to stop cooperating with the Manafort investigation and get 210 Javelin anti tank missiles?

My favorite is how most Americans are too dumb to realize that this investigation has lead to 17 indictments and 5 guilty pleas so far.

Just wait until Cohen flips traitors.

I was just a teenager, but even back then I thought the Clinton impeachment was a bunch of baloney. We wasted a lot of government resources to have a pointless trial over a silly little sex scandal. I don't care who the president fucks, I care about how he's running the country. And when it comes to Trump, I can't imagine anyone is the slightest bit shocked that he would cheat on his wife. We all knew what kind of guy he was going into this thing, and we elected him anyway. If the democrats want to waste their efforts trying to impeach Trump over a sex scandal, they'll only be shooting themselves in the feet. I think most people who aren't rabid partisans just want to see the government do some goddamn governing.

    You are doing God's work.

Recommendation: I caught up on the podcast Embedded, which had a season about Trump. Good listen, except it's months old now so it doesn't have all the recent bullshittery. Good for those people who'd like background on the whole matter in a way that's comprehensive yet a fun/easy listen.
