Usually harmless... but it mite not be.

    My favorite part was

A 2014 study found that 100% of people over age 18 in the study had mite DNA on their faces, suggesting that the mites are universal inhabitants of adult humans.
Someday, this information is going to work it's way into a conversation--not that reminding people they're covered in mites isn't already a fun social experiment to find the most imaginative in a group. They'll be the first to start involuntarily scratching. The germophobes will turn into a vague blur as they seek out the nearest source of soap and water, and invariably return ruddy faced and still covered in mite DNA. The strong will be identified by the tiny twitches marring their attempt to face the news impassively. Every now and then... someone checks a mirror.
Most of time, when people ask why something terrible happened, they don't realize they are looking for someone to blame.

Yeah like the other day a truck started in front of me and I ate all its gas. But hey I'm covered in mites.

I read this Wikipedia article about (Japanese) torture during WW2, with an excerpt of a statement by an ex-torturer who explained how it was possible to become absolutely desensitized to, or at the most simply annoyed by people being tortured. That disturbed me for a long time.

You sure it was a torturer and not a medical scientist?

Uhm, no, it actually says so on the label; it's just that the graphic is rather illustrative of what junk that stuff is.
