Those links look kinda sketchy. I'm afraid by clicking them all my personal details will be dispersed amongst hot singles in my area who are overly willing to give me a free Xbox for completing a five minute survey.

i put the vocaroo links for those who are too scared, but the audio quality drops dramatically
i believe @Sappho sings, and also @stuck and also @BarIII and i remember there was another guy who was uploading a lot of his singing

Sappho sings and that's about it.

I'm glad your upping the musician density on INTPx, @PureViolence.

The last time I sang karaoke was ca. 2008. I have a pretty useless low-contralto range (not high enough for contralto; not low enough for tenor) so the repertoire of pop music I could sing is minute to non-existent.

The sound on your recordings is amazingly crisp – what's your recording set-up?

I was sure you made up the tune to Four Out Of Five but then I heard it on YouTube and I think you got it right. Anyway... https://vocaroo.com/i/s1yUDfZtsA0r

I know karaoke isn't acapella but I felt my voice could stand alone.

Sounds like excuses. I don't know what's your musical taste but surely there are tons of songs that never go that high and are not that low. Weezer has plenty of those. Maybe Muse, maybe uptown girl, damn that song is cool. I might try some metal singing tomorrow... but my voice is not well suited for it. Plus I find contralto as well baritones are the most dynamic voices, you just have to train it. I agree that for basses like Peter Steele or this guy Barry white is a bit more complicated but I don't think you have that problem. I remember reading somewhere Shakira was a low contralto haha what a lie.
When I started I sucked a lot, my range was limited to half an octave. I improved a lot by competing with other retards like me on a forum then when I got good they banned me alleging I tried to take down the forum, but that's another story. So. Participate.
About the recording nothing special for these quick karaokes I just set a compressor and add a bit of reverb; medium room. Actually these are recorded on my Huawei phone which is exceptionally good at recording voice, my condenser mic is broken atm. I really see little difference in the final product and it's handier to sing at the phone.

I like Jonathan Edward's Sunshine. I think Sappho could handle it.

    That's my issue

I believe I'd be most comfortable as a baritone. I could sing that crash test dummies song pretty comfortably.
