Holy god, and I thought Montana house prices were high. Where do some of you live?

*channels best Robin Leach impersonation *

"Welcome to another episode of the Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous. This week, we head down south to the bright lights and smog filled skies of muggy and humid Houston, Texas."

    * cue lame 80s game show transition music with lots of overhead shots of traffic, urban sprawl, and toothless bums fighting to the death in an alley over the last Vienna sausage in the tin *

"Our first property, a quaint yet homely little place nestled deep in the heart of the economically depressed inner city, yet this lavish little bungalow can be yours for a paltry $110,000."

    * signals for model to reveal what's behind curtain number one *

"To the viewers at home, ask yourself: Couldn't you see you and your little ones waking up to the sounds of birds chirping, rival gang members firing in broad daylight, as you're taking in the lovely aroma of freshly brewed coffee and crack cocaine smoke? Lovely, isn't it."

"Complete with an understaffed police force, disease ridden prostitutes, and a public school system so poor and underfunded that it makes a shack made of twigs and mud in the Afghan mountains look like Princeston University."

"What better way to instill good ol' fashioned American values in your children, such as the value of a dollar, than by surrounding them in an environment where people don't have any!"

    * audiences ooohs and ahhhhhs *

Now, for the next portion of out show, we head down the highway to the ritzy Suburbs, where you'll find trophy wives, sweet rides, and rampant opioid addicts due to being over-prescribed. Curious to the depth of man's desire for excessive and indulgence? Stay tuned as we're about to find out!

    * Aerial camera shots of white picket fences, shopping malls, and hedonism *

"For reaching out a few more coins out of your piggy bank to the tune of $500,000, you'll be handsomely rewarded with this 5 bed room, 4 bathroom penis compensator!"

I kinda ran out of steam there towards the ends, so that's all you get (plus typing out long posts on a phone gets a bit tedious) you freaks. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?!? IS THAT NOT WHY YOU ARE HERE?!?

    Left $100k: 3/3 - 2160 sq ft - .2 acre

    Center $500k: 3/2 - 1270 sq ft - 4.8 acres

    Right ~$1 mil: 5/4 - 4k sq ft - .3 acre

a lot of houses around here that were built in the early to mid 2000's have an issue with shitty Chinese drywall and/or sinkholes

    Under 100k?

    LOL

    Under 500k?

    1 bedroom, 1 bathroom for $180,000

It's about a 5-10 minute drive from where I am now, up in the mountains. Better have insurance for wildfires.

    Under 1 million?

3 beds, 3 baths, 2,343 sqft, 7348 sqft lot size

    $925,000

It's about a 1 minute drive from where I am now.

    BONUS!!! Under 4 million?

For $3.135 million, you get 4 beds, 6 baths, 3,300 sq. feet and a pool. It's a 10-15 minute drive from where I am now.

If you can bump the budget up to 11 million, then we can can move you from Altadena/Pasadena to the nearby San Marino.

I live in Corvallis. There are some places available under 100k in the manufactured/mobile home category. This doesn't look too bad to live in:

500k will get you something pretty nice if you're willing to live up in the North part of town:

or smaller and older if you want to be close to downtown:

For a million bucks you can get something huge:

    or a new condo downtown:

The only thing in my area that costs more than 1 million is an 83-acre lot.

Not pretty from the outside, but well below the 100,000 USD budget (about 69K US) and a pretty decent accomodation:

442K USD A pretty cool house that I've actually been in. Attended a friend's band practices there a few times. Some neat features that aren't pictured in the listing, even. There's a hallway with curved walls, stained glass lites...really cool space.

The most expensive listing in town at 703k USD:

So who wants to move to Canada? Better make the move quick...these prices are going to inflate quite a bit if we get a final investment decision on the proposed LNG plant.

Pretty much this for any area of Socal you'd want to live in.

If you want cheap that means going really far inland. You can get this humble abode for 99k way the fuck out in Needles.

In Denver, you can buy an empty lot for <$100k. There were a few other listings, but they were either foreclosures without an image or auctions.

For $500k and more specifically in my area of Denver, you actually have a roof and an ideal location for cooking meth.

And for $1m, you can afford a large home with a yard, although it may look like it was designed by a schizophrenic architect.
