Video game music you consider exemplary

I've got a background in classical composing and now am going to be writing music for video games.

If you have examples of video game music you consider especially good - it really hit a nerve in the game play, please post it and why you think it works so well.

Final Fantasy has so much good music.

Final Fantasy XIV was so bad they had to reboot it and this was part of how they did it.

All I know is I like Tom Brier's sight reading of ragtime video game music.

I just read he was in a serious accident. I'll be reading more about that. I've been watching his videos for several years.
I will accept no further friend requests. This doesn't mean I don't love you or anything so don't be offended.

Bloodborne has awesome music, a mixture of 2nd viennese school, horror movie music, ligeti.

It works so well because both it matches the world aesthetically, but not historically. People see bloodborne as "gothic" when it's actually victorian, and the music, which harkens to 20th century music heavily, occupies a similar fuzzy area.

The entire Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Zelda series temple music.

    Pretty much any adventure-oriented game.

I liked the Planescape: Torment music a lot. It really set the ambience well.

    I was going to say!

Michael Huang has excellent piano arrangements of virtually every piece used in any of the instalments.

As stuck said above bloodborne has an amazing soundtrack. My brother prefers Dark Souls 3 but I disagree. Bloodborne ost is what I believe nietzche was envisioning as classical punk, you can pogo to it.
Then you have anything in Donkey Kong.

The Witcher 3 also has amazing music. That game insanely good.

Final Fantasy is coming up a lot. Some of it I like, but the female vocal pop-style lead is distressing honestly.
