    I imagine it could have been a lot worse.

    It only erupted in the apparently classic stripe pattern, along one major branch nerve from my spine. Basically ran along roughly the bottom edge of one of my shoulder blades.

    Actually I figure this might have been a blessing in that it kept me from pawing at it too much.

    Mostly tolerable as long as I wasn't lying down, but lying down really sucked for about two weeks.

    So like a cracked rib with road rash? Yeah, could have been way worse. I've heard of people getting it like a super herpes outbreak, which rival's Letterman's bout where it attacked his optic nerve.
