    Read This, Not That

Like many people, I have picked up a terrible habit of reading sub-par newspapers' online editions during my lunch hour. It has become ingrained and automatic so I figured it might be a good idea to set up redirects to better choices of recreational reading material – the kind of stuff that doesn't require much concentration, yet doesn't fry your brain with inanity.

So far I've found these substitutes:

    New Scientist

    Smithsonian Magazine

    Any other suggestions?

    I like Aeon (aeon.co)

I haven't actually read anything on maptia yet but bookmarked them for their nice design. And their stuff might fit the bill

    And longform.org

Maptia looks great. The other two aren't bad, either – their articles just come across as more subjective, if that makes any sense.

    Thanks!

I read the NYT when taking short breaks from work. Lots of the things I read there aren't strictly political, though. I blame @MuseedesBeauxArts

I only occasionally read the website...but I love the magazine.
