    Usually. I always wash them though.

    Home grown cucumbers can be bitter with cucurbitacin in their skins. It's supposed to be a deterrent to herbivores/vegans and vegetarians and is probably cytotoxic... The greenhouse ones not so much. I peel home grown cucumbers and don't with the telegraph ones from the supermarché.
