Agreed. It's one of the few shows from which I actually feel like I'm learning something new about people (not so much the political or cultural aspects, but the psychological ones - the warping effects of extremism and alienation)

saw both the It movies, rented the first on Blu-Ray. liked the first more, but really appreciate what either King or the scriptwriters did with the second half. the heroes had to face themselves on an individual basis and destroy their pasts in order to defeat the clown.

    recent stuff

swiss army man (2016) - the opening scene made me laugh harder than... anything else i've ever seen. i can't believe this movie exists but i love that it does.

Spoiler: actually might be a spoiler
    the premise:
Dano plays Hank Thompson, a man who is attempting suicide after being lost on an island, when he sees a corpse, portrayed by Radcliffe, wash ashore. He develops a type of friendship with the dead body and discovers that he can manipulate the cadaver like a Swiss Army knife.

<3 paul dano, and he and daniel radcliffe have great "chemistry" together. this was such a good stupid time, i really needed it. it's also really beautifully shot.

trumbo (2015) - ultimately formulaic, but worth watching. bryan cranston was great of course, but louis c.k. (wtf!) brought me out of the movie.

1st season of "new girl" - i didn't expect to love this, but i do. i guess i just need something light-hearted to watch or something and this cheers me up. i'm glad there are 7 seasons to get through. very binge-able.

I've been watching Season 3 of The Good Place. It's still one of the best shows I've ever seen. It's so good, I'm not binge watching.

It's pretty good for what it is. If you imagine a typical Hollywood movie about some dirty rotten Islamic terrorists killing some Marines and then their Marine brothers getting some pay back, this is what this movie is. With Pakistani Islamic terrorists attacking Indian army soldiers and getting some payback from Indian army special forces replete with a similar amount of 'Oorah!' to an American flick (although 'Ji Hind' seems to be the Indian Army go to).

There is a whole genre of these Indian military vs Pakistani terrorist action films. Ashkay Kumar stars in a bunch of them.
Too bad, Lady Une. You were far too lenient.

I'm 5 episodes into Netflix's dark comedy Dead to Me, is great. Highly recommend.

Also watched The Following on Prime, bout a serial killer cults/s. Was reasonably good.
All truth passes through three stages:

    First, it is ridiculed.
    Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

I succumbed to advertising and started watching Undone on Amazon Prime. So far I'm liking it. The rotoscope look gets less annoying after a while.

I like that the episodes are short. I like the characters.

    Spoiler: thoughts
Aubrey Plaza and the sister character are both relatable, so at any given moment you can identify with the iconoclast or the one being aggressively normal.

I like Sam. It makes me miss having my man around, although my guy is rarely so patient.

    San Antonio! <3

I'm sure the dad has gotten to be deeply mistaken about something as the plot unfolds.

Is he the guy from that show...? That's slightly distracting.

Over all I like him as a spirit guide.

    The overtly progressive priest. Cute.

Edit: Just finished the whole season and realized it's not Aubrey Plaza at all.

Finished watching Dark Crystal Age of Resistance the other day and really enjoyed it, and looks like there might be a second season later on? (I ended up watching the whole thing dubbed in Japanese lol)
I also started watching the new anime series on Netflix called "Carole and Tuesday" (watched the first episode) and seemed pretty good, but then I got distracted with rewatching Yuri on Ice ('cause I joined the skate club that apparently exists in my uni) lol

I'll go back and watch Carole and Tuesday after; I really like music anime (like Nodame Cantabile, Your Lie in April, etc.), and since it's on Netflix, I can use the Japanese subtitles option with the Japanese voices for even better practice (correlating the speech and text).

Are they all dead? (No spoilers, please). Just wondering if that's one where the cast are dead walking the earth but not zombies? There was a series on Showtime man, must've been 20 years ago, called Dead Like Me. LOVED IT! The lead of that show could've been an INTP. They were humans, now dead, given the job in the afterlife of being grim reapers and pulling the souls out of people right before they died. Ensemble piece. Mandy Patikin and Jasmine Guy were the "names". I think it only did 3 seasons, which is a shame. Great wit, obviously dark at times but not morose. I can't remember too much of it now. The shows might've gotten kinda stupid at the end. Never heard anything from an insiders' position, like the networked wanted stupid, stunty stuff to boost the ratings or if Mandy got pissy or what. But I'd recommend at least the first season if you get the chance.
