I was up in the middle of the night last night, and I started watching this terrible Xmas movie from the 90s, Jack Frost.

    So unbelievable.

I know it was the 90s but who thinks a major label wants to sign a blues-rock bar band made up of middle aged dudes? The movie completely lost me there. I didn’t even stick around to see Michael Keaton turn into a CGI snowman. Kelly Preston was a pretty hot MILF though.

Took the kid to a matinee--Disney's "Frozen."

It's interesting how the advent of CGI Disney movies noticeably enhances the impression that you're watching an adult play with Barbie dolls.

This one is about a woman who fucks things up for everyone by being frigid, but luckily has a dumber yet sluttier sister with the requisite skill set to solve the problem.

It also features a terrible pun involving the phrase "Ice-olation."

    Stay classy, Disney.

Suddenly, I want to see "Frozen".
Most of time, when people ask why something terrible happened, they don't realize they are looking for someone to blame.

"How to Train Your Dragon", last week. Just a little behind on my movies, but I don't care. Now I am totally in love. I am going to get me one of those dragon character dolls or stuffed animals, I am. Totally into it. I may even get a real one.

    So far over Christmas Break:

    The Front Line C-
    Skyfall C+
    The Yellow Sea A
    Howling C
    Europa Report B
    A Better Tomorrow A
    A Better Tomorrow II B+
    Drug War B
    The Bad Lieutenant A-
The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans A+
    Prison on Fire B-
    Trash Humpers ?
    Leon The Professional B+
    Elysium F
    Spring Breakers ?

    A few notes:
Harmony Korine's movies are unrateable, but I like them all.
The Yellow Sea should be watched immediately after The Chaser.
Spring Breakers should be watched after any movie by Terrence Malick.
It's a shame that Nicholas Cage & Chow Yun Fat never worked together with John Woo.

    Fruitvale Station B

Some decent acting from Wallace .. *ahem* Michael B. Jordan. Other than that, a little too sentimentalist for my taste. I want to give it a lower rating, but I enjoyed the authentic speech patterns a little too much, bruh.

    Le Dernier Combat B-

This could've been so much better. I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic shyte. This movie needs a little more world-building. I could also do without the stupid plot (which only reveals the true extent of it's silliness towards the end).

    Even Dwarfs Started Small A?

This isn't the weirdest movie I've ever seen in my life, but it's close. What's better is that it can be so damn weird, but never approach the point of being unwatchable. It's perhaps the best example of Herzog's influence on Harmony Korine, and the closest thing that Herzog made to Trash Humpers.

    Jack Reacher B-

This movie is worth watching just to see Herzog as the villain. Everything else is kinda dumb. Why the fuck would you set a movie in Pittsburgh?

    The Wolf on Wall Street

Easily the best comedy(albiet Dark Comedy) I've seen in years, and the most fun I've had in a cinema in a long time. Despite its almost 3 hour run-time, the story flows pretty smoothly, and while some scenes drag on a bit, the extra time deposit always paid off. Also, I can completely see why this movie teetered on the verge of an NC-17, because holy shit are there some explicit sex/drug use scenes throughout the entirety of the movie -- Not that it bothers me, but after viewing the finished product, I can't imagine how much further Scorsese had actually taken the scenes that had to be cut for the movie to achieve an "R" rating.

Also, there's already lots of Academy Award talk for Leo's role in this film, and I agree he was fantastic, but Johan Hill knocked this one completely out of the park.

I just watched this. Thank jeebus for your advice, I'm really glad I didn't watch that with my girlfriend.

    That episode was devastating.
We didn't land on Plymouth Rock. Plymouth Rock landed on us.
